The Yangpu Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge that crosses the Huangpu River in Shanghai, China. Construction of the bridge began in 1991 and in 1993 the bridge opened. The Yangpu Bridge was the largest cable-stayed bridge in the world with a span of 602 meters until 1995, when the Pont de Normandie opened in France.
The bridge was originally unpainted, it was painted red for the city's celebration of the year 2000
