Älvsborg Bridge is a suspension bridge located in Gothenburg, Sweden. The construction of the bridge started in 1963, in 1966 the bridge was opened by Minister of Communications Olaf Palme. The Swedish engineer Sven Olof Asplund designed the bridge. The bridge is 933 meters long and has a span of 417 meters. It has 6 lanes. Älvsborg Bridge was painted green for the 1995 World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg.
