Erasmus Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge located in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The bridge crosses the river Nieuwe Maas. Construction began in 1990 and the bridge was opened by Queen Beatrix in 1996. It is called The Swan because it is white and similar to a swan. Erasmus Bridge has become a landmark of Rotterdam. The bridge is 802 meters long and the main span is 280 meters. Erasmus Bridge was designed by the Dutch architect Ben van Berkel.
