Ponte Vecchio means in Italian old bridge. The bridge is a world famous bridge crossing the river Arno in Florence, Italy. On the bridge there is a street where there are many small watch and jewelry stores.
During World War II all the bridges in florence destroyed by the Germans except the Ponte Vecchio. It is claimed that it was Hitler himself ordered about this.
